Behold my Hands

Above is a piece of my "Art" (more than a decade ago) which I drew it on the column of my parent's house. Inspired by Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel drawings on the walls and ceilings, I decided take on a personal project to do a wall drawing at my home. My dad graciously allowed me to do at one corner of my house which is my study area (which was my drawing area as well). With the limited space, I decided to draw the Michelangelo's Creation of Adam (Only the hands). Instead of drawing Michelangelo's version of the outreached hands, I took my own hands as reference. Must be original, else it is a copy right?

I drew it in pencil and after drawing the outline, I took a rest and thought of painting it later. However it remain in that way since. I think it look better in Black & White. To be really honest, I allowed laziness and contentment to set in. I am unsure how it will look after painting in color either. The process of coloring and getting the tone right are hard work! If I did it wrongly, it will destroy what I have done so far too.

It is a "Milestone" artwork to me personally as my late father continue to allow the drawing to remain on the wall. Guess it look "Presentable" and true enough many of my guest did asked about it and gave some praises.

The drawing remain for more than a decade and I took a picture of it before I moved out. Today the walls are repainted but the fond memories of the process of making the art piece stays with me.

My colleague came across this website that allow you to do some painting / drawing and shared the link with me. It suppose to simulate Street Arts by spraying. Was trying it out for awhile and done 2 drawings instead rather than some streets art with bold letters and some Blink Blink wordings.

Dancing Grooves

The application is Flash based and very much responsive (depend how well you are with the mouse and how sensitive your mouse is). Not that hard after you get a hang of it.

Too bad it does not allow any zoom feature or layers which can make it more easy. Then again it won't be realistic isn't it?

There I was having a mood to draw and I drew this in art rage. Black and White version before coloring.

Later added colors and some additional stuff to make the drawing more meaningful.

Hm... I think I will go back to draw some comic strips. hm... good idea?? :D

Found this drawing of Starwars characters doing rather same post of LEonardo "The Last Supper" painting in a forum. Nicely painted. It capture the essense of Starwars Sith and Jedis. I do not know the artist or the source but my credits to him/her.

Drawing for my GF Birthday

It has been ages since I take out a pencil and start drawing. Since my GF birthday is around the corner, I decided to do her a card by drawing her. It is no easy job especially comes to capture the essence of the person facial expression with resemblance to the subject.

To begin, I need to search for a photo that captures her best moment with her full features. To draw a person, it is adviceable to draw and empathies the best unique features of that person.

It took me 1 hour plus to meet my satisfaction. Remember drawing a person is to amplify the best feature and try to hide the rest of the details. If you are closed to the person, it is wise to customise to his or her liking.

Anyway end of the story is that she like it very much. Another job welldone.
