Just got to see this on one of Amercian Idol of how they make Elvis with Celine on youtube. Man Elvis is really an timeless idol. I find that song is meaningful too.

The Checkers Band 80s JPOP

I first got to know Japan pop by my brother who played "The Checkers " cassette on and on during weekends. Although I do not know exactly what they are singing but I have to admit their songs sound great and catchy! As I was surfing in YouTube, I happened to find some of the old MTV. Still sound as good as before but some it look rather Retro. Hey! It is RETRO!! Whahaha

Here is a video with some of their best hits in LIVE performance on TV. Look at the stage showmanship at that time. To me they still Rocks, i mean still POP. :)

Just happen to see this cover version of 1987 Madonna classic, La Isla Bonita by a french female signer, Alizee. Brought back some memories in my secondary school days....hehehe

Some facts from Wiki

"La Isla Bonita" (The beautiful island) is a 1987 single by Madonna. The composition was written by Patrick Leonard and Bruce Gaitsch, and originally intended for Michael Jackson for his Bad album, who, according to Gaitsch, turned it down. Working with Leonard on the True Blue album, Madonna accepted it in Jackson's place, and wrote the song's lyrics, earning herself a co-writing credit.

"La Isla Bonita" was Madonna's first #1 in France where the song spent three weeks at the top spot in July 1987.

No wonder the french singer sung this song.

Do you like this version or Madonna? I think this LIVE version is much better. :)

SENNHEISER MX500 Earphone Rockz

It has been sometime that I have been considering to replace my 5 year old Sony earphone. My old earphone is still in working condition but some of the wire is exposed. I have been eyeing Sennheiser for awhile due to the good reviews. Finally today I bought a Sennheiser MX500 earphone due to good persuasion of sale person and friend.

After the purchase, I tested it against my old earphone. I have to confess, I am impressed. The sound quality difference is audible. I have to give it to Sennheiser with 2 years warranty. Affordable price, quality audio experience.

Whenever 1st of May comes, I can't help but to think of one of the BEEGEES song in the 1960s. I must admit, I am a BEEGEES fan. I only get to know them in the 1980s. Their songs are timeless. Still sound so meaningful and with so much soul till today.

I never get a chance to get to know them or to meet them. Was hoping they would come to Singapore during their world tour on their last album but shortly Maurice passed away :( God bless his soul.

Found a music video on youTube. Interested can hear the song and buy their album. It is worth it!

Oh! they songs sound good on guitiar too especially the 60s ones.

在 1980 年, 这首《万水千山总情》的歌可说是家喻户晓. 也许是那时的少数华人的香港电视连续剧的带动吧. 这首歌也成为我的童年回忆里的歌. 因为我妈妈很喜欢这首歌, 我也就时常唱给母亲听. 现在听到歌中的一段 "聚散也有天住定, 不怨天不怨命", 可说出我现在对人生的看法.

Recently one of my friend keep playing IKE IKE by Hinoi Team and I suddenly recall that this song is a ending song of an anime "Ichigo 100%" (Strawberry 100% in english). The song is a very catchy 8 beat Para Para song. My friend took the trouble to search on the net Hinoi Team and the song information and we were blown away as they were not even 16 years old when they sung the song but boy they are so KAWAIYI!!! (Cute in japanese).

Anyway in japanese "IKE" means Go or Let's Go. So the title of the song is IKE IKE means let's go let's go.
