I have completed this title within a week. Man, it was pure fun! God of War on PSP does not lose out the PS2 version. The game play in this series is a bit short compare to the PS2 counter part but how long for a game play do you expect for a PSP game running on UMD with that amount of graphic and sound?

On PSP, the graphic and sound does not lose out much compare to PS2. It still give you the realistic feel in battle. Even the soundtrack are awesome. Not much different from the PS2 version in control configuration. Some of the enemies on PS2 also crossed over to PSP. You can expect to cut down some head of Medusa, jumping on big size cyclops & minotaur and even battle with the Titans!

The story on PSP started when Kratos was defending a city from the attacking Persians. The Persians will bring along a giant Basilisk which Kratos will have to fight along the way. A big gimmick comes after you slay a Persians leader which you will be given a adult theme threat (one and only time). It does not make any different to play that mini game or not.

The story continue on when Kratos found her long lost daughter in the underworld. He gave up his power to be with his daughter which only stepped into a trap of the underworld goddess. In order to save his daughter once again, he has to be Ghost of Spartan leaving his daughter. Kratos will finally get to a face off with goddess of the underworld and Atlas the titan. Upon defeating his enemies, Kratos will once again saved the world. In the end, he still does not obtain his own freedom and had continue to serve the gods of Olympus. (or should I says serving the series to go for the gamers?)

The normal mode was rather easy and the upgrades are easily to the max by the end of the game. The downside was no Mulit-player mode available but it is understandable. How can there be 2 or more Kratos in the game right?

To be honest, I have not even complete even God of War 1 on PS2 and
there I was playing the PSP version. Thank God the storyline was not
really interconnected to the PS2. Now after completing PSP, really feel
like playing the PS2 one. The last I remember I was lost in God of War
1 trying to find my way out of a temple which is carried by a Titan.
Maybe I should get back to continue the game on PS2...

Hm...Anyway
the next installment of God of War will be on PS3 which is one game
console that I do not have at the moment... :( Upgrade my TV first...

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-03-20T05:33:52Z</dcterms:modified>

Jeanna D'arc PSP Game

It has been sometime I have not play strategy game. I heard a lot of good reviews about this title, Jeanna D'arc that was on PSP. Even my friend told me it is nice comparing it with Final Fantasy Tactics on PS1. Is it really that great? I only can tell when I get to see it for myself.

I was very impressed. With a good mixed of anime movie introduction (which went on for none stop about 8 minutes) and good 3D graphic (Yes. colorful and sharp), it instantly won me over.

Using Joan of Arc's story with added mixed of monsters and magic, how wrong can it get? With upgradeable weapons, armors, skills and “Own time, Own target” training stages it would just work out fine. Best of all, it is in English! More characters will join in the ranks along the way. I do not know if they are hidden characters but so far in chapter one was very straight forward. Heck the get all attitude and just head straight and play.

For all Tactics Strategy Gamers, this could be the game of the year on PSP. Yes, this is better than “Valkyrie Profile” on PSP for me so far.
It was a breakthru game with 3D graphic, good storylines and good characters development. There are many side quests that increased the replay value of the game.

The characters were so successful that they have their own movie that was out last two years ago. The movie supposed to continue from the ending of FF7. It was so long that I couldn't remember how it all end at the end of FF7 game.

To revisit Final Fantasy 7, I on my PSP and walk down the memory lane. Good games are always timeless and replayable. :)

The game play was one of it kind. I got hold of that game in the SuperNES days in the early 90s. It gave me hours of fun training my characters. As the years goes by, Final Fantasy series kept on evolving. Although the graphic gets better but somehow the game play was getting out of hand.

Recently Square release the remake of old series Final Fantasy 1 and 2. To my surprise, it still gave me that hooking feeling to continue playing the game. Yes the graphic was better on the PSP version but it was the simple game play and story that kept me going.

All I have to say that the earlier Final fantasy will be a timeless collection and that is why Square dare to take the risk of releasing the old title with better graphics.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2007-06-12T15:59:25Z</dcterms:modified>

My Game Console History

As technology advances, so will be the gamers who always look out for good entertaining games. Unfortunately, good games are hard to come by and through out the years, game console has evolved. Below are the game console which I have owned (Photos taken are not my actual set)

My 1st set was the Nintendo Family Com. It was given to me by my nephew (Ok for those who are wondering why nephew give uncle gift, because I am the youngest of my generation and therefore our age gap are very near to each other). He gave it to me secretly by complaining to my cousin that the set is faulty while he appeal for a new set. Those were the "Super Mario Bro" days where we will spend all night awake playing the game. When the adapter is hot, we put a cold towel on it now to keep it cool to prevent the adaptor from over heating. We are young then and full of "Creative" ideas.
Next was Sega Genesis Console. That was the time for Sonic, Shinobi and Shining force days. 16 bits color and it was amazing enough. I shortly sold it off to get a SNES to play Street Fighter 2. It was fun and I trained hard to take on challenge with my friends after classes. The Role playing game such as "Final Fantasy 6" are 2 of the games I hooked on.
As I moved on to my army days, I saved some of my money to get a Sony Playstation 1. That lasted me for 3 years with enjoyable games like Tomb Raiders and Final Fantasy 7. I sold it off to raise some money for my new PC.
I only brought a Playstation 2 in 2004 but somehow it gave me many problems. I decided to sell it off cheap as I have no much time to play anyway due to my work. Instead, to replace another PS2, I got a PSP which is still serving me well up today.
PSP is really a neat gadget. I used it to listen to songs, watch anime, play games and even surfing the net. I got another PS2 however end of last year during the period where my PC sent for repair. No complain so far for the new set of PS2. My GF and I played Monopoly with it over the weekends these days.
So after reading this entry, you may want to ask "So what is the next game set you want to get?"
My answer to you for certain is not xbox360 nor PS3 but. Nintendo Wii. It look interesting to me now. ;)

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-02-13T01:42:41Z</dcterms:modified>

World of Warcraft: End of Porkchop?

My World of Warcraft account has expired.

After 3 months of gaming, I only manage to obtain level 49. I am so disappointed and yet it enforce the truth about working adult will never have enough time for online game. My online buddies were hoping that I will continue but I am sorry that I have to disappoint them. Basically I don't think I can make it for raids when I reach level 60 as my playtime were late in the night. It just isn't worth it. Many of my time were spend on travelling and being Ganking by the horde due to PVP servers. Recover bodies were the worst! A waste of time! Anyway it is over and I dont want to spend more time in dwelling about it.

I am grateful to the support of 20 Gold to buy a mount by a Outland Import and the provision of gears for Gamli when he was at lower level. Unfortulately because of the missing in Ares the CEO and lack of guild members, I have to make such a difficult choice.

Once you hit level 40, you can buy a mount. For my case, I got a Brown Ram. Everything cost money that is if you can afford more gold.

Gamli the hunter together with his trustworthly porkchop has obtained level 27. During one of the gameplay, Gamli met Ares a helpful level 58 warrior who help him out and encourage him. Good and helpful players are hard to find. Ares not only helped Gamli but invited him into his guild, Outland Import. Above that, Ares even gave FREE equipments. Just look at Gamli new look

Sorry Porkchop the pet boar was out of the picture due to his size. Yes, growing bigger everyday.

This is Gamli, a level 18 dwarf hunter. My pet level 18 bright orange wild boar named Porkchop was really becoming a pain in the neck. I was at Loch yesterday and was killed by Troggs. Two times of my death the fault of Porkchop who ran too far out to hit on one target which attract a number of them coming after me.

I was disappointed about my progress when I found out that one acquaintance who 2 days ago was 2 levels above me now is 10 levels above me. Some people really have too much time. No need to work ha? His answer was he having a summer holiday over in Canada. <_<

On top of this, I am struggling with room spaces to store the loot as the town was so far away to get them sold for money. I bid for a one hand axe and another double hand axe just to improve my attack. I still need more money to upgrade my skills as a hunter.

Okay looking at a bright side, I got promoted as a Private but still I’m not in any guild. Now one takes me in. Boohoo…..

But first thing first, I must stop dying! PORKCHOP! Don’t do it again or I will skin you and eat ye alive you PIG!

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-07-06T12:34:01Z</dcterms:modified>
