I remember the Way You Make Me Feel with your pop music.There are however some Bad press along the years about you being Black or White and they accuse you for being a Smooth Criminal instead of a King of Pop. Those news make you want to scream "Leave me alone" and people just never under lost Childhood. As dirty as Dirty Diana, they came against you for money. Is that a evil of Human Nature? They often wonder who you are looking at the Man In The Mirror. Who is it? Beat It, it's no longer important now. You have Gone too soon...

The other day I was buying lunch at a neighborhood and I decided to buy a Spring roll aka Poh Pia. It cost $1.20 and it was not cheap but for the sake of not having this for quite sometime, I decide to place my order. When it was my turn... Me: "One spring roll WITHOUT beansprout and chilli, take away please" Hawker: "You don't want beansprout? You need to pay an extra of $0.10 for that" Me: "Excuse me?" Hawker: "It is bad for business. I have to add extra others to buff up the spring roll. So do you want that?" Me: "I will cancel my order then." Is my request unreasonable? I do without beansprout and I have to pay more? Where the logic of that? It is bad for your business that you have to add something more to buff up the spring roll? Is that the way to run a business? Firstly beansprout is side ingredient of a spring roll. One standard spring roll for those who ate it will know what are the percentage of a beansprout it in. You mean to tell me that he had standard weight and size of  his spring roll to fulfill and you always keep to? I doubt so as many he did are of different size before my order. Second, why should a customer spare a thought about your business and how much you are losing or earning? Customer has a reasonable request and why you asked for more? Other vendor has done the same request without any increase the charges so why should you? What he has done is bad for his business and many I bet will label that action as extortion aka daylight robbery. If that is not bad enough, he was having a cup of beer in the middle of the day running his business. Maybe he was drunk and that itself is bad for business. Let see how long he can survive.

Over the weekend, I was stepping out of my doorstep and I saw something green on the side of the steps. The unusual sight trigger my curiosity to go for further investigation. I was surprised to find out it was a live green Caterpillar. Now how on earth a caterpillar be at my doorsteps as they are no plants around within the radius of 4 meters and I'm staying above a certain level of an apartment? Whatever it is, I got to move this live caterpillar away from my doorstep to it's own natural habitat. Carefully I swept it onto some paper and make my way to the ground level to transfer this caterpillar to some greenly. But before that, I took a photo of this cute caterpillar.

 

I left it near a tree and hope by nature, it can find some food there. Hope in time it can transform itself to a beautiful butterfly.

I was at IMM over the weekend and suddenly I saw something familiar...


Singa the courtesy lion. He had grew taller and bigger in full plastic. The moment I saw Singa, the tune and the lyrics of "courtesy is for me, courtesy is for you and me" song just played in my mind.

A number of Singa in different poses were found around IMM. It's about time to bring Singa out to encourage courtesy once again. However do you think this will really help to build a more gracious society? Singa did a good job in early 1980s as everyone was at the same starting line looking forward to a common future. Courtesy was practice and kept in good esteem in education. Given that kind of environment and moral value, people who were not courteous were put to shame.

Today courtesy had became something of an expectation. People get angry about things not done according to their expectation. Maybe of such expectation, people stop doing it. When people said "Thank you", did we return a "You are welcome?". Courtesy can be hard to instill in adult but for the kids, it is the parents and educator job to do it with personal examples. Kids have no problem in expressing themselves this day. They have been a center of their parent world. So to them, the world do revolt around them. So why should they take the first step of "Courtesy begin with me"? "I am the prince and princess" as their father and mother had put it. So princes and princesses need not practice courtesy. Don't blame them for ungratefulness of your kids one day parents. Maybe parents already prepared not to expect their kids to treat them well too. So you respect your kids, but how much respect your kids show toward you? 

Anyway I'm pretty sure many in that mall who walk past Singa had no idea who or what that big plastic lion figure really was. To some that day, this is just another figure to take a photo and blog...Like me!! LOL

Puss in boots? Nope Puss in a box.


No I did not put the cat in the box. The cat was there sleeping comfortably early morning in the box and I found it cute and snap it. Yes a Fat cat, Stray that is well taken care by the residents who kind enough to feed them but not kind enough to bring them home...Maybe because cat are not allowed in HDB... anyway that's another story totally.
